Something that a lot of anglers overlook or consider a waste of a rod is casting out a Zig.
A Zig Rig for those who don’t know, is a floating bait presented on a long hooklink which can be any length from a foot to maybe just below the lake surface.
For some this method is thought of as a fair-weather method, but don’t ignore this in the winter especially if you see fish activity on the surface, a bait presented just below the surface can produce dividends.
